If I told you to sit down, relax, and for the next five minutes, allow me to call you every unholy, ungodly name that exists, and you can't respond or react for those five minutes, could you do it? What if I told you that you also had to compliment me for my selection of ugly words that I've used, could you do it? What if I tell you that if you do these things, then a check for five million dollars is waiting for you as a reward. Could you do it then? All of us, I'm sure, would say yes if five million dollars is my reward!

In 1 Peter 3:9 it tells us to "not render evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing." This scripture describes how we should conduct ourselves when we are being persecuted or cussed at! It tells us to react to "Mr. Ugly" by blessing him! If we do, a reward or blessing is waiting on us from God! James 1:12 says, "Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life." A crown speaks of Kingship and authority! It speaks of powerful influence over situations. That is a great reward!!!

If we know there is reward from the Father for our handling persecution in a Godly manner, than we all would handle trials and temptations better than we currently do! Have a great week in Jesus!
