In 2 Corinthians 12:13, the Apostle Paul writes his beloved Corinthian church and tells them, "For in what respect were you put to a disadvantage in comparison with the rest of the churches, unless it was for the fact that I myself did not burden you with my financial support? Pardon me for doing you this injustice!" (Amplified Bible) I realize this may sound strange to some, but Paul just apologized to the Corinthians for not receiving financial offerings when he ministered among them! Scripture records that Paul made tents to support himself while establishing the church at Corinth. In his last letter to this church, he says that by not receiving offerings from them, he actually placed them in a position of disadvantage or inferiority in comparison to the other New Testament churches! Paul literally asks for their forgiveness in this matter.
The reason he asks for their forgiveness is because Paul realized that by not receiving offerings from the Corinthians, he did not give them the chance to receive the harvest and blessings that their giving would have produced! He actually described this as an action of injustice! It seems obvious that Paul believed in the benefits of sowing and reaping in the financial realm.
Let's not be at a place of "disadvantage" in our lives as believers. Let's make sure that we stay faithful in our tithing and giving and not lose the harvest that the Word of God says is on it's way! Have a great week!
