In Luke 8:22, Jesus tells his disciples," ...'Let us go over unto the other side of the lake.' And they launched forth." As the disciples obey the Lord, a storm of boat-sinking magnitude arises with the specific purpose of destroying the boat and stopping the mission that Jesus has set out to accomplish. On the other side of the lake is the Gadarene demoniac, a man possessed with many demons who has been controlling that region and it's people with fear. Jesus has set out to get the man and that region delivered!

In our lives we must realize that storms are not always a sign that we are outside of God's will. They may be a sign that you are exactly in God's will! The storm comes to stop you and I from accomplishing the mission that Jesus has told us to do! The storm can be the devil's response to your growth and maturity in the Lord. Verse 25 tells us that faith will get us through the storm and to the "other side of the lake." We will discuss this further next week. Until then, have a great week!
