Recovering Your Destiny

2/20/2006

Have you ever wanted to change some of the choices that you've made in life? Did you ever feel that you were stuck on a pathway that you knew you weren't supposed to be on? Most of us can respond with a resounding "yes" to these questions. All of us have made wrong choices in life. The hope of turning them around can sometimes seem bleak, but God's Word always has the answer to hopeless situations!

Proverbs 11:5 says, "The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way..." The word "righteousness" means to act in a proper moral and ethical way. In other words, to do what is right! The word "perfect" means to have integrity. The word "direct" means to make straight, rectify or recover. We can paraphrase this verse by saying: "If I find myself on a wrong pathway in life, I can turn it around and recover by maintaining a heart of integrity accompanied by proper moral and ethical conduct." Changes are not always overnight, but they are possible when we act on the Word of God in faith.

I've often heard the phrase "Do the right thing, because it's the right thing to do!" As over simplified as that may seem, doing the right thing can reverse your situation and put you back on the pathway that you're supposed to be on! If you need it, a new direction can be yours! Have a great week!
