In 2 Timothy 4:7, Paul speaks to young Timothy about some very important aspects of life in God's Kingdom. "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." What I want to bring out of this is the fact that Paul finished his course. He didn't quit just because he encountered troubles along the way! Yes, he had to fight. Yes, things were tough. His attitude, however, as described in Acts 20:24 was that "none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy..." Paul was determined to complete the job that the Father had assigned to accomplish. He would not be stopped!
Paul also described the Christian life as a race. The truth is that finishing a race is much more difficult than starting in one. To start a race, all you need to do is show up and begin! Finishing the race requires determined effort and the refusal to give up! Much more can be said of this. Let's all finish the job that Jesus has given us to do! Have a great week.
