Romans 6:16 says, "Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness." Paul is telling us that we will become the servant or even the slave to whatever form of mastery that we continually submit ourselves under. If we continue to submit ourselves to the Word of God, than we will become people of faith, love and grace. We will show mercy and grace to people even when they don't deserve that mercy! It becomes a habit because we practice it on a regular basis. When impossible situations arise against us, we respond to it in faith knowing that we are going to be victorious regardless of how strong the opposition!
The same is true with sin and the flesh. If we respond to situations with anger or consistent complaining, than we will create a flow of bitterness that will grow and defile our lives and the lives of others. Out of our bellies will flow rivers of dead stagnant water! Sin will become our master and we will habitually obey it without even thinking. Let's all stay submitted to the Father's Word and demonstrate His character in every encounter of life. Have a great week.
